Children in the Early Childhood Department will be moving to their new classes on Sunday, September 6. Parents will be receiving a postcard sometime next week that notifies you of your child's classroom assignment. Please note that age ranges in the Early Childhood are approximate. We strive to place children with those whom they will experience life. Here's the breakdown of classroom ages:
Trusting Toucans:
older 2-year-olds
Lovable Leopards & Faithful Frogs:
3 and 4-year-olds who will be entering Kinder in 2011
Kind Kangaroos & Gentle Giraffes:
4 and 5-year-olds who will be entering Kinder in 2010
K-Zone:
kids who just began Kindergarten
Parents, please remember that it’s important to use positive language when talking with your child about their new class. When preparing your child for this transitions, use positive language such as, “Your new class will be fun for you now that you are getting bigger” or “Your new room will have fun new toys to play with.” Do not use phrases such as, “I know you might be scared….” or “don’t be afraid.” It only plants the seed that there is reason to fear this change. Promotion Sunday is an exciting time! Kids get to start their year off in a new classroom and have new experiences learning about God and growing in their relationship with Him.
