Children's Christmas Program 2010

Hello Parents!

Here is a copy of the lyrics and motions to our Christmas song. The children will be performing this song on the "big church" stage at the 9:15 and 10:45 services Sunday, December 19th. There will also be a rehearsal to practice getting the kids safely on and off the stage. Please plan on bringing your child to this practice run, December 18th from 9:00-9:30 a.m.

The lyrics and motions to this year's song are posted below so that you can be practicing at home.

Baby Jesus, We Love You:

What did the cows at the manger say To baby Jesus in the hay?
(lift arms up and shrug shoulders like you are saying “what?”)
“Moo, moo, moo, moo.
(slap hands on knees)
Baby Jesus, we love you.”
(swing arms back and forth like you are rocking a baby; cross arms across chest; point ahead)

What did the sheep at the manger say to baby Jesus in the hay?
(lift arms up and shrug shoulders like you are saying “what?”)
“Baa, baa, baa, baa.
(slap hands on knees)
Baby Jesus, we love you.”
(swing arms back and forth like you are rocking a baby; cross arms across chest; point)

Chorus:
Jesus was born on Christmas day. Mary laid Him in the hay. So little boys and girls may pray,
(raise arms up in the air and sway them back and forth)
“Jesus, Jesus, Baby Jesus, we love you.
(say “Jesus” in sign language twice [finger to palms]; rock a baby; cross arms across chest; point)

What did the donkey’s at the manger say to Baby Jesus in the hay?
(lift arms up and shrug shoulders like you are saying “what?”)
“Hee-Haw, Hee-haw.
(slap hands on knees)
Baby Jesus, we love you.”
(swing arms back and forth like you are rocking a baby; cross arms across chest; point)

Chorus

Moo, moo; Baa, baa; Hee-haw. Jesus.
(slap hands on knees)
Baby Jesus, we love you!
(swing arms back and forth like you are rocking a baby; cross arms across chest; point)

I've also attached a video clip I found on youtube of a baptist elementary school singing the song. While the video does not help you learn the motions, it should help you learn the tune of the song.

On the day of the performance (Sunday, Dec. 19), please drop your children off at their Sunday school classrooms early. We ask that they arrive at 9:00 for the 9:15 service and 10:30 for the 10:45 service. It is very important that your children arrive on time so they can line up in their spots to go on stage. We don’t want any late comers to miss out!
